Pinturas Ragamala son ilustrativos de una serie de pinturas medievales de la India sobre la base de Ragamala o el «Garland de Ragas', que representa a varios nodos de música india, Ragas. Que como un ejemplo clásico de la amalgama de arte, la poesía y la música clásica, medieval, en la India.

Ragamala pinturas fueron creadas en la mayoría de las escuelas de pintura de la India, a partir de los siglos 16 y 17 y se nombró hoy a consecuencia, como Pahari Ragamala, Rajasthan o Ragamala Rajput, Ragamala Deccan, y Ragamala Mughal.

En estas pinturas cada raga es personificado por un color, el estado de ánimo, un verso que describe la historia de un héroe y la heroína (nayaka y nayika), sino que también aclara la temporada y la hora del día y de noche en la que un determinado raga se va a cantar y, finalmente, la mayoría de las pinturas también delimitar las deidades hindúes adjunta con el raga, como Bhairava o Bhairavi a Shiva, a Devi Sri etc Las pinturas representan no sólo la Ragas, sino también a sus esposas, (raginis), sus numerosos hijos (ragaputra ) e hijas (ragaputri).

Los seis principales ragas presente en la Ragamala se Bhairava, Dipika, Sri, Malkaunsa, Megha y Hindola y estos están destinados a ser cantados durante las seis estaciones del año - verano, monzón, otoño, principios del invierno, invierno y primavera.
